Objective

This course will prepare you to:

• Perform SAP system administration tasks
• Describe how the Enterprise Portal on Web AS 6.40 fits into the big picture of SAP’s product   offerings
• Understand how the portal looks and feels to an end user
• Understand the technical infrastructure and security of the Enterprise Portal on Web AS 6.40
• Describe basic portal content objects
• Describe the use and purpose of the Knowledge Management and Collaboration offerings

Minimum Prerequisites

• Data processing knowledge
• Experience implementing and operating SAP systems using SAP R/3 4.6B or SAP Web AS 6.20

• Configuration of integrated SAP Internet Transaction Server (SAP ITS) and use of SAP GUI for   HTML
• New features in SAP Web Dispatcher and ICM

Module 3: SAP Enterprise Portal Fundamentals

• Big Picture (Purpose of the SAP Enterprise Portal, Advantages of implementing an Enterprise   Portal, The portals role in SAP NetWeaver)
• End User Perspective (Logging on to the portal, Portal screen elements , Personalization)
• Technical Infrastructure and Security (Architecture overview of portal platform, SAP’s user   management engine (UME), Security)
• Portal Platform Content (Content object model, Working with iViews, Working with Pages,   Working with worksets and roles )
• Knowledge Management and Collaboration (Knowledge Management Overview, Search and   Classification Overview, Collaboration Overview)

Module 4: SAP Enterprise Portal Applications

• Portal Platform Content - Content object model - Creating iViews, Pages, Worksets, and Roles -   Delta links - Delegated content administration - Business packages
• System Administration - Transports - Role and User Distribution - Portal Display - Creating   System objects - Distributed Query Engine
• User Management - UME Configuration - Delegated User Administration - Anonymous Access -   User management tools
• Security - Authentication - Authorization - Network Security - Single Sign-on to SAP and web   application
